Siting and Compliance
__Siting business operations and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations requires knowledge and may require negotiation with agencies and stakeholders interested in the regulatory process. This applies not only to compliance with water discharge permits and air emissions permits, for example, but also arises in connection with wind turbine siting, dam maintenance and/or removal, and many other decisions and actions of the business and property owner.
Siting and compliance matters can vary from a narrow issue of compliance with a specific regulation (such as limits on particulate emissions) to complex balancing of regulatory, and political and social demands and view points (such as the effects on fish, recreation and property values along a lake or river whose level is sustained with a dam. |
